Our passion and core values define who we are. They're the convictions that drive us. They're the way that God has specially wired us. And they permeate all of our people and ministry activities.
Our passion is loving God and loving people.
Jesus said the greatest commandment is to love God and the second greatest commandment is to love people (Matthew 22:34-40). We strive to keep the main thing the main thing by remembering that these two things are what God desires most of us.
We value truth.
We love God and love people by living in the truth. Jesus prayed to the Father for his disciples in John 17:17, "Sanctify them in the truth; your word is truth." As followers of Jesus, we want to be learning the truth of God's word and living it out. This is a key way for us to be sanctified--set apart for God's good purposes--by God.
We value discipleship.
We love God and love people by helping people follow Jesus. At the Great Commission (Matthew 28:18-20), Jesus commanded us to go and make disciples of all nations. Here at Grace we want to help others come to know Jesus as Savior. We also want to help those who already follow him grow like him as a disciple.
We value service.
We love God and love people by serving with our gifts. In Mark 10:45, Jesus tells us, "For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." As followers of his, we want to serve the church and the world with the gifts God has given us. This is one of the ways we tangibly express the love, grace and presence of God.
